The ultimate Gift Guide for the Celiac or gluten free person in your life.

It can be a challenge to find the perfect gift for that certain someone, but even more so if that person has dietary restrictions. As a gal with Celiac Disease I have made it my mission to create a gift guide of things those of us who are gluten free would truly enjoy getting. I have polled other gluten free friends to get input and I think we've created a list of thoughtful and unique gifts you can give the gluten free person in your life.

How this gift guide is broken up
This gift guide is split into sections by the size and price of the gift, so starting small with stocking stuffers and little gifts and working all the way up to bigger and more extravagant gift ideas. If applicable, sections will also be divided into sub-categories (like gifts for the gals, gifts for the traveler, gifts for the chef, etc.).
Stocking Stuffers and Small Gifts

For Anyone
Every stocking should come with plenty of holiday candy! Some of my favorite gluten free candy options include Brach's Candy Canes, Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses, Reese's Christmas Trees, and Heath Bars. It is important to check candy and chocolates to see if they are truly gluten free before gifting. Many holiday treats contain things like malted barley or malt which contains gluten (like Lindt chocolate truffles), but since it is not wheat it likely won't be listed as an allergen on the packaging. When in doubt it is best to check the manufacturors website or Celiac platforms for accurate information.
Katz gluten free treats like these Cinnamon donut holes or Toaster Pastries make such a great gift. Katz has so many fun gluten free items to try out and you can check out even more foods in their Amazon store.
Another fun stocking stuffer idea is some gluten free snack favorites like Chomps, Catalina Crunch Snack Mixes, or Second Nature Nut mixes to gift some yummy foods that aren't just sugar.
King Arthur Baking company has lots of great gluten free products. Grab some of their gluten free dessert cups to use as stocking stuffers, a boxed mix for a hostess gift, or order the baker in your life a bag or two of their gluten free flours as a simple but thoughtful present.
Funny gluten free dish towel- This cute dish towel would be a great stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or item to pair with several other small items in a gift basket.
A Gluten Free Mug is an easy and useful item to gift. Add it to a stocking, pair it with a bag of coffee, or fill it with some gluten free chocolates. This Heart Gluten Free Mug is cute too and a little more feminine.
Lip balm is always a good stocking stuffer since lips get so easily chapped this time of year. Sun Bum is a great brand that is both gluten free and has SPF 30.
Hands also dry out so quickly in the winter so travel size Hand Lotions are a perfect stocking stuffer. They are a great size for carrying in your purse or gym bag, leaving near the kitchen or bathroom sink, or for holiday travel.
A nice soak in the bath always feels like such a luxury this time of year, and Dr. Teal's Epsom Salts is the perfect way to give a little at-home spa time to someone you love.
For the Gals
Unfortunately not all make up is gluten free, but there are plenty of brands that do have gluten free products! Some of my favorite gluten free make up items include this Ilia Multi-Stick for Lips and Cheeks (certified GF), the Maybelline Superstay Matte Lipstick (this is Ilona Maher's favorite lipstick, too!) , e.l.f. Whoa Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen & Makeup Primer, and the very best lash combo (in my humble opinion) of L'Oreal Mascara Primer and Maybelline Waterproof Mascara.
Nail polish is another great stocking stuffer for the girls. The Olive & June Quick Dry Nail Polish has recently become one of my favorite brands for painting my own nails. Another great choice is the Dazzle Dry Starter Kit for fabulous, fast-drying, at-home manicures.
Cute, Gluten Free Wall Art would be a fun gift for someone to hang up in their home, office, or dorm room.
A little Gluten Free Tote Bag would be easy to roll up and add to a stocking or use as sustainable gift wrap and tuck a few items inside! I like this "Friends" inspired bag too.
Inexpensive But Thoughtful Gifts
Perfect for Friends, Coworkers, Teachers, or Siblings

A small gift card to a local gluten free bakery. Stick it in one of the mug options from the stocking stuffer list for a fun presentation. If you don't have any good local options, a gift card to a fast-casual chain that is good for gluten free like Chick-Fil-A, Cava, Chipotle, or In-N-Out would work too.
A small treat bag with several different types of unique gluten free snacks or sweets. Check out places like Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Wegmans, TJ Maxx/Marshalls, World Market, etc. to find some interesting gluten free products. Use a small basket, gift bag, or one of the Tote bags from the Stocking Stuffer list to put everything in.
Pay for a year of the Premium Subscription for the Find Me Gluten Free app. This is my favorite app to use for finding safe restaurants to eat at and it is an absolute game changer for traveling! It's an inexpensive gift option but such a thoughtful idea. You can also get $5 off by using the link above to sign up.
Grab the ingredients to make a fun, gluten free recipe and gift that along with the printed out instructions. Some great blogs to check out for GF recipes include Meaningful Eats, Gluten Free on a Shoestring, Mama Knows Gluten Free, Gathered Nutrition, The Loopy Whisk, and Jenn Eats Good.
Grab a gluten free cookbook like these beautiful ones from Meaningful Eats or "How to Bake Anything Gluten Free" from Becky Excell.
Make a little hot chocolate bundle with a hot chocolate mix, holiday mug, and bag of mini marshmallows. Many popular hot cocoa brands like Swiss Miss are gluten free. Most hot chocolates are made with no gluten containing ingredients, but it is always good to double check specific brands as there is a chance they may not be Celiac safe depending on where they are processed. Same with the marshmallows- most are naturally GF but it is always best to check the specific brand to make sure.
For the Traveler
I have loved using this Backpack with Cooler Section for travel since I am often transporting my own food with me. You could even pair it with with a couple of Soft Ice Packs or these Reusable Zip-Lock Bags that I also find very useful for travel.
It is easy to get dehydrated when traveling so I always carry electrolyes with me. I particularly like these Immunity boosting ones from Nuun. Grab a few different flavors to gift or pair with a Small Yeti Water Bottle that is a perfect lightweight bottle for travel.
Gift a small assortment of easy to transport GF snacks and food like Chomps, Catalina Crunch Snack Mix, Kind Bars, and Aahana's Just Add Water Power Bowls.
Full Sized Gifts
For the people you really want to treat

One of the biggest challenges of having dietary restrictions is the mental toll of always having to find safe food. An amazing gift to give can be simply easing the mental load by planning a meal out (or in!) for someone you love. Either pick a favorite restaurant you know they feel safe at, or do some research (using the Find Me Gluten Free app is a great place to start) and contact the restaurant to ask all of the necessary questions for them*. If you want to plan a meal in, pick up all of the ingredients to make a special meal (making sure to double check that all of the ingredients are safe!) and cook it with them so they can see how everything is prepared and not feel stressed about asking follow up questions regarding new ingredients, clean utensils, safe cooking space, etc.
*Some of the main questions to ask a restaurant to determine if it is Celiac safe include (but are not limited to)
Are your gluten free items prepared in a separate space or where all other food is prepared?
How and where do you cook GF items (in new pans? in the same, shared oven or flat top? etc.)
Do you have a dedicated gluten free fryer or is all food cooked together in one?
How do you prevent cross contact with gluten in your kitchen?
Do you have protocols in place for handling orders with allergies? Are all staff trained in these?
If you don't live near someone to do this, or won't be able to share a meal with them, a gift card to a restaurant or store known for being good at gluten free is also a really nice gift. Many restaurants offer gift cards, and stores like Trader Joe's, Wegmans, or Whole Foods carry many fun, gluten free products. I have been given gift cards like this in the past and always appreciate it so much since it allows me to try some new things and buy some items I maybe wouldn't normally splurge on.
A Gluten Free subscription box like Purely Gluten Free or Love Me Gluten Free would be such a fun gift to give someone! These companies send boxes filled with different gluten free items to try every month so you can explore lots of different brands and products. You can order just 1 box from Purely Gluten Free or 3 months from Love Me Gluten Free so those are great options to gift someone so they can try one out.
Thrive Market is a membership-based online grocery store that is great place to find discounts on beloved gluten free products and brands. Almost everything they have is discounted from the price you would pay in a normal grocery store, plus they regularly run extra sales and discounts. As a gift, sign your loved one up for a Thrive Market membership and pay for their first year of membership (it's only $59.95 for the full year! That's about $5 a month) and let them save money on groceries and maybe find some new brands to try too.
I had never been such a tea drinker until I became gluten free. There are just times when the most soothing thing you can do for an upset stomach is drink a hot cup of tea. A lovely gift idea (if someone doesn't have one yet) would be an Electric Kettle and a nice tea assortment. This Tea Advent Calendar from Twinnings would be such a fun gift, or this nice Assorted Specialty Teas from Taylor's of Harrogate.
Likewise to drinking tea, smoothies can be a big help on days when you aren't feeling great and can't tolerate much food but still need to get some calories. I was given this Ninja Professional Blender and it is one of my most-used kitchen appliances. It's great having both the single serving cups and the large blender and I end up using this often in place of my food processor, too.
Make a fun, gluten free gift basket that combines several ideas from the small gifts sections above. Some ideas could be a cozy inspired gift basket with a mug, Starbucks gift card, hot cocoa mix, some holiday candy, and add in a holiday candle or a pair of cozy slippers. Another option is a "spa day at home" complete with the bath salts, nail polish, and moisturizer from above, then add in a Comfy Bathrobe or terry cloth headband, and Burt's Bees face masks (which are labeled gluten free). For the travel lover try getting the Backpack with built in cooler listed above, some ice packs, and then load it up with fun snacks or food items that are great for travel. You could also add in a Portable Charger that's perfect for charging on the go or a leather monogrammed Dopp kit.
For the Chef & Baker
One of the most thoughtful and fun gifts I've ever received was a gift card to the King Arthur Baking Company specifically to buy their online Gluten Free Bread Baking class so I could learn how to make different gluten free breads at home! You can buy Gift Cards from King Arthur that are either physical cards or e-gift cards, which allows the gift receiver to purchase the online course for themselves, as well as the ingredients they need for the class like the bread flour. This is one of the coolest gluten free gift ideas I've ever seen and the breads you learn how to make are different recipes than the recipes they have available on their website, and dare I say, even better. If you have someone in your life who loves cooking or baking this is one of the most unique and fun gifts to give!
Order a gluten free cookbook (like the ones mentioend above) and then choose one of the recipes that looks good and buy all of the shelf stable ingredients for it. I love so many of the recipes from Meaningful Eats cookbooks and most of them use King Arthur Flour.
A dutch oven is a wonderful gift for someone who loves making food. We use ours all the time for soups, stews, casseroles, and baking bread. King Arthur has an amazing sale going on right now through 12/31/25 for Staub Dutch Ovens that are over $200 off! Le Creuset is the other best known brand for this type of product, but there are also cheaper options like Mueller and Lodge that are still well rated.
Extravagant Gifts
For the person you really want to spoil

KitchenAid Stand Mixers are one of the Cadillac appliances of the cooking world. If you want to make bread or cookies regularly, this is the mixer to have. While expensive, it is the type of item that will last a lifetime and get plenty of use over the years. They even last long enough to pass onto the next generation! I absolutely love my KitchenAid and pull it out regularly anytime I make a dough.
If you really want to treat someone then one of the most amazing things you could do would be to plan a fun Gluten Free Getaway for that person. Plan a long weekend trip (or longer!) to somewhere that is known for having lots of good, gluten free options. Some ideas would be to visit New York City and create a whole list of safe gluten free restaurants to visit (Find Me Gluten Free is the perfect resource for this), stay at a Bed and Breakfast like The Inn Berlin in coastal Maryland that is fully gluten free, or book a Celiac Cruise to somewhere wonderful. Like I mentioned above, one of the most fatiguing parts of being gluten free is the mental toll of figuring out where to eat safely. Give your loved one a little break by doing the research and planning for them and treat them to something really special. In my opinion, the best gifts are always experiences instead of things so you can create wonderful, lasting memories together.
You want to treat your loved one to several nice meals but can't make a trip somewhere special happen? Make a "Punch Card" of restaurants in the area that have good gluten free options. This could be anywhere from 3-10 restaurants within an hour of your loved one's home that are special and well rated for being safe for Celiacs (again, Find Me Gluten Free will be a great resource for this). Do the research for them and then create a Punch Card with the different restaurants listed out to try and the promise of visiting each location over the next few months.
