Electrolytes are vital minerals that help the body maintain fluid balance as well as support muscle control and nerve function. When you sweat, your body loses both fluids and electrolytes making it vital to replenish both on hot days to avoid dehydration. This fun and summery watermelon-lime electrolyte mocktail tastes great and is an excellent source of natural hydration and electrolytes helping to keep you cool and hydrated all summer long.

Hydration benefits of this Watermelon-Lime Electrolyte Mocktail
Watermelon- watermelon has a very high water content (about 92% water) making it super hydrating, plus it also contains small amounts of potassium and magnesium which are important electrolytes for the body.
Coconut water- contains lots of natural electrolytes like potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium and is also low in sugar. It is a great natural alternative to many sports drinks that are typically high in sugars and/or artificial compounds.
Lime- a great source of vitamin C plus adds a nice citrus burst to add to the drink.
Salt- sodium helps regulate the amount of water in the body, plus is crucial for muscle control at the cellular level. If you are sweating you are losing sodium (that is why sweat is so salty!) so it’s important to replenish your stores on hot days or when you are exercising.
